Hey, I’m Stew!

My love for all things hair began long before I started beauty school. As early as elementary school, I was in my grandmother and mother’s salon, learning the ropes by sweeping hair, wiping windows, and eventually assisting with perm rods at the wash bowl. While some might say I was breaking child labor laws, I believe I was setting myself up for a lifelong passion and career in hair.

Raised by a single mom, I spent countless hours in the salon—after school, during the summer, and almost anytime before I was old enough to stay home alone. My official entry into the hair industry began when I packed up everything I owned in Alabama and moved to Florida to attend The AVEDA Institute of Tallahassee. Even outside of school, I was determined to learn, shadowing local stylists and taking continuing education classes.

After cosmetology school, I spent nearly three years in Utah growing my career as an independent stylist and educator, teaching hundreds of classes across the country. Recently, I relocated to Tampa, Florida, where I now own Krew Hair Studio. Here, I offer a range of luxury hair services, including custom hair extensions, precision cuts, and personalized styling. In addition to client services, I run a shadowing program designed to provide hands-on learning experiences for aspiring stylists.

Education is at the heart of what I do. I plan and teach in-person courses nationwide, focusing on advanced hair color techniques, innovative styling methods, and effective content creation strategies for building a strong personal brand. These classes are perfect for stylists looking to elevate their craft and grow their business.

The young stylist who spent hours in his mom’s salon would be proud to see how far I’ve come.
